Re: Will Zumo re-route me to a via point that I've missed ?

...... In the 450/550 device world, I believe the answer is no. Once you continue on the path of the planned route, the device picks up the route from where you are and starts directing you towards the next point. ....... OK, that certainly matches my experience. When I use routes such as this on m...

Re: Will Zumo re-route me to a via point that I've missed ?

It sounds like you could have a SHAPING point and not a VIA point. I'm using 'via point's. I create most of my routes with My Route Application. It allows me to designate via vs shaping. It would be helpful if you'd mention specifically which model you are using. Its a 550. .... Thanks

Will Zumo re-route me to a via point that I've missed ?

It seems like my Zumo will not attempt to re-direct me to a via point that I've missed. Imagine a simple route consisting of 5 via points. Points 1,2,4,5 are essentially a straight line. But I have to turn to get to point 3, and then basically return to where I turned from to resume the route. (Imag...

Re: Routes not behaving properly

jfheath, thanks for the suggestions, but still no luck. I should mention that when I 'show map' on the zumo, I can see the waypoint flags, and it mentions that the number of 'via points'. But the waypoints are not 'utilized'. When I open the route, select 'edit' and 'recalculate', it takes me direct...

Routes not behaving properly

I created a route (to see Christmas lights at various addresses) about a year ago that behaved properly on my Zumo 550 last year and it guided me to my waypoints as expected. I tried to use that route this year and it seemed like it was behaving in 'off road mode' and did not direct me to make turns...

Re: 12 volt accessory plug - need some parts for my Zumo 550 cord

Why does it have to be OEM? I'd just buy one that is for the 550. https://www.amazon.com/s/ref=nb_sb_noss_2?url=search-alias%3Daps&field-keywords=zumo+550+power+cable Clearly it doesn't, but I've seen so many bad reviews of various cords (phones and other devices), that I *try* to go OEM where ...

Re: 12 volt accessory plug - need some parts for my Zumo 550 cord

I just did a quick check on Amazon. You can buy a new 12 volt accessory cord for your Zumo 550 for about $10 and be sure it is the right one. I had done some checking on Amazon and eBay, but could not find anything OEM for under $20. If I limit my search to 4.2v, I suspect that eliminates most of t...

Re: 12 volt accessory plug - need some parts for my Zumo 550 cord

First suggestion that comes to mind is to not let someone else use your 550. :) You can get a replacement 12v accessory plug, take the old Garmin one apart and remove the wires (or just clip them close to the plug, strip the wires and install the replacement plug. Most have screw terminals so no so...

12 volt accessory plug - need some parts for my Zumo 550 cord

I need to replace a few parts on the 12 V accessory plug adapter on my Zumo 550 cord. The following parts were lost by a person who used my Zumo: - the metal 'tip' of the plug - the nut that threads into the adapter (holds the tip) - the spring - the fuse (easy enough to find) I'd like to simply rep...

Whew, glad I found this ! Loved the old forum

I assume GDPR played a role in this .................. regardless, happy to have found you !

I ride a 2015 HD Ultra Limited, but still use my trusty Zumo 550 in my car/truck/boat. And hope to keep using it for a long time.
