Re: Weird Routing Behaviour (2)

Just as another aside. I reset my XT the other day as my routes weren't being transfered to the device via the Drive app. Don't know why as it said they'd transferred but nothing was appearing in trips (I think there must've been a corruption in the route maybe?). Anyhow, the XT also did an update a...

Re: Weird Routing Behaviour (2)

All - this has been fascinating and thanks for the script to sort out the routes. Hopefully Garmin will (one day) fix this issue so we don't have to mess around so much. Those photos of Ireland make me want to plan a trip over the Irish Sea!! One thing that I'd noticed, and just sharing for info, wa...

Re: "Road Ahead Closed"

Thanks - I'll look into that properly. I tried the custom road one at the time but didn't realise one put in a start and end. It wasn't intuitive and, after a few minutes faffing, a voice came over the intercom "Don't worry Mike, I've sorted it in Goggle Maps". Damn. I'll have a play over ...

"Road Ahead Closed"

So, firstly a massive thanks jfheath - I've just read your guide to the XT & Basecamp and found it brilliant. So, my question is on route avoidances on the XT. We've all been there, happily leading some fellow bikers around the country lanes, the route all nicely planned in Basecamp and transfer...

Re: Average Speeds For Different Road Types

Fascinating stuff. One could spend as much time playing with Basecamp and the XT than riding an actual motorbike. Sadly, I quite enjoy it!!

Average Speeds For Different Road Types

Hi - Apologies if this has been covered but searching didn't turn anything up. I'd like to get the route timings in Basecamp to be as near as possible to that of the XT (or vice versa). Imagine you've planned a route in Basecamp and have to get a ferry but when you set off the XT reckons it'll take ...

Re: Using "Where I've been" information

Hi - sorry just seen your reply. The select all button did work but, if I recall correctly, it merged the tracks into one file rather than keeping them separate. TBH I've given up on Explore as it seems a bit pointless compared to using Basecamp.

Re: Using "Where I've been" information

That's great, thanks. Shame it can't upload them automatically - or at least bulk upload rather than one by one. Probably easier to plug and copy if it's more than a couple of tracks. Don't know why but the syncing is taking forever...

Re: Using "Where I've been" information

Hi - quick question about these automatically created tracks - is it possible to get them to appear in Garmin Explore or is the only way to access them to plug the XT into your pc and access them via Basecamp (or downloading the actual file)?
