Re: clear database in Basecamp because its crashing on startup

I delayed responding to your question because my database is in a non-standard location (D:\Dropbox\Garmin\Database\4.7\Alldata.gdb) and I did not remember the default. But since you have not received an answer... Google answers the question, "Where is my Garmin BaseCamp data stored?" with...

Re: Editing a Route Created from Track?

I gave up on the Create Route from Track method because it is so hard to edit, especially when it is a loop. I display the track in Basecamp, select the New Route tool and click on the track at several points in order from beginning to end. Clean up the result with a switch to the Hand tool and drag...

Re: Sd Card in XT

I'd probably use the method above to let the XT format the card, but there are many free Windows utilities available to format large SD cards as FAT32. Here is one that I've used on SD cards and other storage devices: https://www.easeus.com/partition-master ... ws-10.html

Re: Mounting XT as Mass Storage device on Windows

The Garmin XT does not have a Mass Storage mode, unless maybe you have very outdated version of Windows. The manual says "Windows versions prior to Windows XP Service Pack 3 use USB mass storage mode." On my Windows 10 and Ubuntu PCs, it appears only as portable device. There is an obscure...

Re: 590 Rubber Power Button Failed

I had this problem a couple years ago. The design and drying of the rubber was probably part of the cause, but I think I aggravated the problem by using a fingernail to press the button. I remember that I found a part number for a replacement back, but never found a source for the part. I finally to...

SYNC-ing theGarmin Zumo XT - Music transfers

SYNC - ing the Garmin Zumo XT If you are satisfied with the way your PC connects to a Zumo XT, you can move on to another post. Short version: My new Garmin Zumo XT (v6.30) was not properly recognized by my main Windows computer, using any of its USB 2.0, USB 3.1(Gen1), or USB 3.1(Gen2) ports. It di...

Re: Weird headset results?

IF you have not done this already, try adjusting the volume control on the headset while the problem is occurring. That is, while a distorted instruction is being given, or during that silence where you expected to hear a direction. The timing on this can be difficult, since the directions can be ve...

Re: Version 7.4.1

I'm aware of that. I don't use the City Navigator and the OSM maps at the same time. I can select all three OSM maps to give country-wide routing because they do not overlap each other.

Re: Version 7.4.1

I've been messing with this for about a day and a half, but I could not leave this stupid thing alone. In internal memory I found 47 files in the hidden .System/SID directory, totaling 4.47GB. An assortment of .sid, .unl and .gma files, with the same filename usually used with two or three of those ...

Re: Version 7.4.1

This new Express does not give me the option of installing anything to the SD card. Previous versions did, that's where my last two CN maps were located. This version simply says internal memory is full and errors out, telling me to contact Garmin. This is in spite of the fact that I could still see...
