Re: ZUMO 660: POI symbol to show up on Main Screen

I think your HD icon is for a list of dealers? A similar file for BMW dealers on Navigators and my 590 has a .gpi extension and is placed in H:\POI, where H: is the drive letter for my Zumo. Some references say the file should be in H:\Garmin\POI. Something in the back corner of my mind says you can...

Re: Is there a way to clear search history?

I use Notepad++, but that .config file looks the same in the Windows default Notepad app. View>Word wrap might give you a different result.

Re: Is there a way to clear search history?

Be brave and try it! At worst, you have to re-install Basecamp. But the answer is yes! <bc.FindOptions_t> <setting name="RecentSearches" serializeAs="String"> <value> </value> </setting> For any other Windows users that want to do this, I found the config file to edit in a text e...

Using CNNA NT 2024.1, Search cannot find the street but will show it, if you know where to look. Using CNNA NT 2025.1, Search fill find the street and address, but not the Best Western. Using OpenStreet U.S. 2024-05-18, Search finds the Best Western Plus River Escape Inn & Suites. Searching more...

Re: Garmin Express - retained downloads

Equivalent (hidden) folder for Windows PC is C:\ProgramData\Garmin\CoreService\Downloads I delete this folder after every update of anything from Garmin. It seems to contain only duplicates of everything installed, but there is no way to actually use the files after installation completes. I don't b...

Re: 595 will not answer calls

I think that this is likely a permissions issue. On my Android phone, the Bluetooth connection setting for the 590 enables access to Calls, Audio, and Contacts. Being able to make outgoing calls suggests your iPhone is properly setup in this respect. The 590 and 595 use the Smartphone Link app to co...

Re: Updating Basecamp maps

Connect your XT2 to the PC via USB. Run Garmin Express, selecting the XT2. Click "Map Details", then "Options" under the City Navigator map, then "Install to Computer". The old maps will remain on the PC until you uninstall them like any other program (Settings>Apps). I...

Re: Change Map Name in Installed Map List?

I knew somebody would have a better solution! JaVaWa Device Manager has a nice feature that shows you the area covered by a map. This really helps when creating a meaningful name for the map set. Device Manager still requires the device to have a mass storage mode, which the XT lacks. To change the ...
