Re: Zumo xt no speed limit info

Molsal Hmmm - why have you changed the region of the City Navigator NTU maps? Normally, all of Europe is installed automatically and the Zumo XT has plenty of memory for it, so no need of cutting down the maps - maybe there was an error while doing this and this is the reason why the speed limits a...

Re: Garmin Explore no longer supports Zumo XT

Officially the Garmin Explore app never(!) was compatible with the Zumo XT! The Zumo XT has build in a small/rough version of Garmin Explore into it's firmware and communication was done only by the Garmin Drive app and also communication was only done with the Garmin Explore cloud - there was never...

Re: XT coming next week

@jfheath - be careful with the term 'turned off', this could be misleading for new users! When you want to charge the unit from a wall charger, it should be in standby - not turned off!

Re: XT coming next week

help me to understand the difference. my AC charger adapter outputs DC 5 volts at 2.1 amps the bike battery outputs DC 5 volts at lower amps to my understanding, the DC 5 volt output is the same, only the amps are different. so why would the XT battery charge up at the lower 0.5 amps but not charge...

Re: XT coming next week

I am assuming that doing either bike cradle charging -or- AC wall charging are both valid options?. Thanks for comments. The very important thing with AC charging is - did the Zumo XT start by himself, when connected to the wall charger! Yes - let it start up completely, then shortly(!) press the p...

Re: XT coming next week

so buying a car mount and plugging miniUSB into XT and cigarette converter into 12v battery would be same as XT on bike cradle charge? looks like it would be the same thing for XT battery charging Not really - it seems, that the Zumo XT, is doing something a little different, when it's loading from...

Re: XT coming next week

The problem with the Zumo XT is, that it only charges when it is running or in standby - so when the battery is really flat, it won't start up and so no charging on mains! The only solution to this is to let it charge in the motorcycle mount for a while...

Re: Wacko traffic auto-recalc routing

Snave1000 One thing I don't understand is why in some instances you will be offered one or more options to get around a traffic issue and in others the XT just re-routes. Perhaps it is traffic delays the produce options vs. road closure the triggers a re-route. The only reason I noticed this re-rou...

Re: So, who trusts their XT's navigation?

As you said - only a few things to make for a stressless ride: Set the starting point a few meters in front of your starting position when planning a route + turn off 'traffic information' + turn off 'automatic/prompted recalculation' and if you must take a detour just go 'on sight' back to the pre-...
