Re: Has anyone determined what triggers the double-ding?

I reckon that it may be one of these. Note the various settings for both inside the city and outside - different amounts of lee-way. The alternative is that it is relaying pings from your phone and has nothing to do with the XT at all. I do not have the "Inside / Outside the City" nor the...

Re: BC wants a detour when its not necessary!

I've had BC do that quite a few times. If I zoom in and start dropping via points I can find a place where it will not allow the route to continue. Usually, I can then zoom in all of the way and place a new via point right next to the last point BC will plot (in the proper direction) and force it to...

Re: Latest XT Motorbike Lockable Mount options

I have the ZumoLock on 2 bikes (Multistrada and XR650L). I would rather have the Touratech as it locks the entire GPS instead of relying on the seemingly anemic plastic Garmin mount. However, the Touratech was back ordered and not available when I got the Zumo XT. I custom made aluminum mounts for t...

Re: Accidently emptied my database

Tough break. Any time I make changes to my saved routes or Waypoints in Basecamp, I make a backup copy of the database. For Mapsource, the data is stored in the My Garmin folder in Documents, so that gets backed up regularly anyway. Yeah. I know better. Was just too lazy to do things right. Luckily...

Re: Accidently emptied my database

Thanks everyone. Unfortunately nothing seemed to work other than restoring that particular database from an earlier windows backup. I lost a lot of the planned routes but still have all (I think) of my tracks and earlier routes. Something to do for the rest of the winter I guess - re-developing all ...

Accidently emptied my database

I was trying to copy some waypoints (with the "copy" command in a Basecamp drop-down menu) from an old database ("2021"), switch to another database ("2022") and paste those waypoints into the new database. Somehow, all data in the 2021 database is gone (there are sever...

Re: Zumo XT and Basecamp - Everything That You Need to Know

Thanks so much for putting this together. It must have been a lot of work. I have been using various GPS units for almost 20 years on desert/dirt bikes, dual sport, and sport touring bikes. I consider myself a serious GPS user with a lot of plotted miles. I switched from handheld units when the GPSM...

Re: XT Software Update 6.30

Actually I have - at the end of November. Had it plugged into my computer with Garmin Express running and also within range to my WiFi (not sure if it auto-connected though). Express reported that everything was up to date? No big deal but a bit strange.

XT Software Update 6.30

Haven't used the XT for a couple of weeks. Today (Dec 31, 2021) it updated it's software to Version 6.30.
