You may run into problems trying to update the maping in Basecamp. I updated 2 XTs and the map update for basecamp failed both times.

I have recently noticed that there seems to be a map database error and I do not know if it is the GPS or the database itself. On two occasions after imputing and address the GPS wanted to take me to the wrong location. I am using an XT.

I trust my XT more than my built in one on my Harley.

This is nothing new. I see this all the time. Part of the blame goes to whoever is supposed to report the changes to the company that supplies the map database to Garmin. Changes are made all the time. That is why you have to pay attention to your riding environment.

It does work on a window 11 laptop.

If you are only displaying major roads after the upgrade check to see if your map is unlocked. I have installed and used it to update the maps on my Mac for basecamp. I did not have any issues.

I upgraded my Garmin express and had no problem updating my maps for Basecamp. I check the map information and Basecamp reports it as unlocked at least the Mac version in the US seems to be doing what it should.

I have noticed the same problem so what I did was to pair my Sena 50s to the phone and the xt but did not pair the phone to the xt. Everything works.
