XT2: Section 3 - Collections

3.01 - Explore / Collections
An Introduction to the 'Explore' Screen
When you press the Explore icon ont he main page, it takes you to the screen that looks something like Pic 1.

The green bar - showing the word 'Collections' is actually a button. When you tap it, it takes you to a menu - shown in Pic 2. The picture shows 4 collections that I have set up for a 3 day mini-tour. Peebles is my destination for the first day - hence 01 Peebles. The other colelctions are named in the same way. I have assigned the track, the route and the three waypoints for the first day to the '01 Peebles' collection.

The collections for Days 2 and 3 are arranged in the same way.

A fourth collection - '3 day tour' - has all 15 items. 3 routes, 3 tracks, 9 waypoints - so yes, any item can be associated with any number of collections.

The icons on the right hand side indicate which collection(s) will be visible on the map. I turn off all collections except the one that I will be riding. In this case '01 Peebles' is visible, all of the data that is not assigned to 01 Peebles will not be visible.

The Green Heading Bar
Whatever caption is in the green heading bar, that is the information that is being displayed. Pic 1 shows only the names of the 4 collections that I have set up, and it indicates how many items I have in each collection. Remember that some items will have been assigned to more than one collection.

When you tap the green bar, the 'Explore List' shown in Pic 2. This is a very handy way of limiting the display of what could be a very long list.
Unsaved Tracks
These are the tracks that are recorded automatically by the system - if you have Settings -> Device -> Travel History turned on. The tracks appear in the gpx folder when you connect the XT2 to a computer using the USB cable. CurrentTrackLog.gpx is the file currenly being used and the Archive sub folder will contain up to 6 months of older recorded tracks.
Courses
This is a feature that became avialble on the Explore App on Apple and Samsung phones. You could use a 'magnet' tool to attach the route being plotted to a road, path or track. It doesn't feature in the Tread App or on the Explore website. I have yet to find out why it woul b included in the XT2 menus.
Enable On-line Synch
If you haven't yet enabled the XT2 to synch with the Tread App on your phone and with the Explore database, then this option gives the opportuntiy to set it up. Personally, I don't have my XT" synching my route data with the Tread App. For me it works much better without. But should I want to enable it, this is the option I would need to press.
